KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and members of the royal family broke fast with the public at the Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan 1 (MBK1) field.

The annual event underscores the close bond between the ruler and the people of Pahang.

Also present were the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and their children including the Tengku Mahkota, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.

In a Facebook post, the Pahang Sultanate stated the gathering is among His Majesty’s favourite events.

The post noted it provides a valuable space and opportunity to interact directly with the people.

Al-Sultan Abdullah also visited the adjacent Mahkota Square Ramadan bazaar before the iftar.

He greeted traders and members of the public and purchased food for the breaking of the fast.

Many attendees seized the chance to take photographs with His Royal Highness during the gathering.
