Kota Kinabalu: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Premier Advisor Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said he prefers the party to have collaboration with Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) rather than a merger.
“Cooperation does not necessarily mean merger,” he told the media after officiating the 38th PBS Congress at KDCA, here, Sunday.
Cooperation involves working together with a shared intention, and it is crucial to avoid sabotaging one another, the PBS founder said, when asked for his views on the proposed merger by his brother, Star President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
“We need to support one another. When someone is assigned a specific area, it is only natural for their friends to provide support. That is how it works,” Pairin added.
