A recent video shared by KelantanFA, which has since been circulating online, shows an elderly man crossing train tracks, allegedly in Kelantan.
In the video, the man patiently waited in a narrow space for an approaching train to pass before casually crossing the tracks toward a nearby housing area.
KTMB responds to the incident
The incident has since caught the attention of KTM Berhad, prompting the company to issue a response in the comments section of the viral video.
In their response, KTMB emphasised that crossing or trespassing on railway tracks is both dangerous and prohibited under Section 126 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
They also warned that such actions could even lead to a fine up t0 RM500 and pose a serious risk to lives.
“KTMB would like to inform that crossing or trespassing on railway tracks is dangerous. Prioritise your safety and follow all safety instructions”, they wrote.
The video has since sparked a wave of reactions from netizens, with many flooding the comment section to share their thoughts.
“Looks like there’s a small space below where the pak cik waits for the train to pass before crossing. What’s concerning is that there’s no safety fence in front of the residential area.”
“The train isn’t the dangerous one but it’s the pak cik. But he seems used to it, looks confident like he knows it’s safe.”
“Where did the pak cik come from. He suddenly appeared out of nowhere. If it’s in Kelantan, the houses are close to the railway tracks, like in Gua Musang. They’re already used to living that way.”
“It’s an act of putting oneself in danger and causing trouble for others. I can’t say it’s stupidity, but Islam doesn’t teach these kinds of ways.”
