MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has appointed blogger Rey Joseph Pengson Nieto as Assistant Secretary for the Office of the Cabinet Secretary under the Office of the President.
In a Facebook post, Nieto said he is “grateful and a little scared” to serve the Filipino people with his new position.
“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Filipino people, but I am also aware that this is a difficult time for the country,” he said.
Nieto, who also goes by the alias “Thinking Pinoy”, is a former digital media consultant.
