MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday declared several days in September as special non-working days in seven municipalities and cities.
In a statement, the proclamations — signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on September 10 — were issued to allow residents to participate in celebrations marking festivals and founding anniversaries in their respective localities.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the proclamations read.
The holidays begin on Saturday, September 12, in Cavinti, Laguna, which will commemorate its Reconstitution Day under Proclamation No. 1436.
On September 14, Sariaya, Quezon, will celebrate its town fiesta, making it a special non-working day under Proclamation No. 1435.
Later in the month, a special non-working day will be observed on September 26 in Naval, Biliran, to commemorate the 166th Pueblo Day and Charter Day.
Meanwhile, Alicia, Isabela, will celebrate its founding anniversary on September 28 under Proclamation No. 1430.
On September 29, Iligan City and Irosin, Sorsogon, will celebrate the Diyandi Festival and Paray Festival, respectively.
Finally, September 30 will be a special non-working day in Masbate City, Masbate, to mark its 26th Cityhood Anniversary under Proclamation No. 1433.
