MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday confirmed that political strategist Franco Mabanta previously served as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s social media director in 2018 but his stint only lasted for six months because of his "style."
"No one is denying that Franco Mabanta served as the President’s social media director," Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said during a chance interview in Cebu.
"He only lasted about six months because, according to the information given to me, his style was apparently not well liked. That is all the information I have," she added.
Mabanta, founder of the Peanut Gallery Media Network, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly extoring P300 million from former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in exchange for burying a supposedly incriminating video against him.
