MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Tuesday said the deadline given for fugitive senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa was intended to give him time to surrender peacefully, reiterating Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla’s warning of a “no mercy” arrest.
This comes after the government placed a P50 million reward for information leading to Dela Rosa's capture and issued a one-week deadline for the senator to surrender to authorities, which is set until Thursday, October 29.
In a press briefing in Cagayan De Oro, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that should Dela Rosa fail to surrender within the given timeframe, authorities will continue to find him until he gets arrested.
