Palace to present evidence vs Cayetano's P10k aid claim

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Saturday dismissed Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano's claim that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. rejected plans to distribute P10,000 aid to qualified beneficiaries who were recovering from the pandemic after he won the presidential elections.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro accused Cayetano of "creating intrigue and stories without basis" instead of focusing on his responsibilities as a senator.

"Why can't Sen. Alan Cayetano stop himself from creating intrigue and stories without basis," Castro said in a statement.

Castro said Malacañang would respond to the senator's allegations with evidence.

"He has clearly adopted former president Duterte's style—making promises that turn out to be only for campaigning," she said.
