
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Games (Saga) Papar women’s football team has made history by clinching the West-South Coast Zone qualifying round title after a thrilling three-day tournament at Padang Sukma A, Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex, from June 2.
Competing against teams from Ranau and Penampang, the Papar squad secured their victory with a 1-1 draw against Ranau and a decisive 3-1 win over Penampang.
Assistant Manager cum Coach Jenny Binjamis hailed the team’s debut performance, singling out Nichelle Pearl Janiri Sipaji as the standout player for scoring all four of Papar’s goals.
