Parking compounds suspended during SSP disruption: Mayor

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Smart Parking (SSP) system resumed operations on Thursday after a temporary disruption affected several digital services, Mayor Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah said.

Sabin said the security of user information and transactions remained protected, with immediate measures taken to safeguard users' interests, while DBKK suspended the enforcement of parking compounds during the disruption as an early mitigation measure.

He said the City Hall (DBKK) had directed the system operator and the relevant technical teams to submit a full technical report, adding that a police report had also been lodged and that investigations and technical assessments were ongoing.

Sabin said DBKK would not draw premature conclusions while restoration work continued, stressing that protecting user data remained its top priority and that any confirmed unauthorised access to personal data should be reported immediately to the authorities.

He thanked users for their patience and the cooperation of DBKK Holdings, the system operator and the technical teams in restoring the system, while advising the public to rely only on official DBKK announcements and directing enquiries to the DBKK Holdings Parking Management Office at 088-270181, 088-270182 or 012-7690181.
