
MANILA, Philippines — Two people were injured after part of a residential structure collapsed along Sevilla St. in Binondo, Manila, on Thursday night, according to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
The incident occurred at around 8:30 to 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 1 in Barangay 272 and involved a storefront attached to a residence.
Two injured victims, a 13-year-old boy and a 29-year-old woman, were brought to Jose Abad Santos General Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment, the MDRRMO said.
Three other people inside the structure were reported to have sustained no injuries.
Following the collapse, the Manila Public Information Office said the area was evacuated and a safety perimeter was established.
Use of the affected structure was temporarily prohibited pending inspection by the Manila City Engineering Office.
