MANILA, Philippines—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has designated several lands in Sarangani province as part of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Under Proclamation 1428—signed on Sept. 8, 2026 by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto—a 142,568-square-meter property in the village of Malbang, Municipality of Maasim, in Sarangani, has been declared “Malbang Industrial Ecozone."
The property consists of nine lots, each measuring about 15,841 square meters, except Lot 3, which covers about 15,840 square meters.
Under Republic Act 7916, SEZs are designated areas developed into industrial, commercial, or financial centers and may offer fiscal and other incentives to attract foreign and local business
