Kota Kinabalu: Bingkor Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) Division Chief Johari Tahir said the people of Sabah has no reason to reject the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the upcoming state election as the government led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has proven its capability to govern effectively with the people’s interest at heart.

Johari said since the GRS took over the state government in 2020, Sabah has enjoyed political stability, robust economic growth and the implementation of various development initiatives that directly benefit the people.

“We need to assess this honestly. There is no reason to reject the GRS because this is the government that champions Sabah’s interests, implements financial reforms and ensures development reaches the villages,” he said in a statement, here, Saturday.

He noted that the GRS government successfully increased State revenue to over RM6 billion in 2024, while introducing various initiatives to assist different segments of society, including youth and students.

He said the implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap has also created impact through rural road construction, water and electricity supply provision and improved education and healthcare facilities.

“The people can see tangible changes in the villages, namely, better roads, increased economic opportunities and young people now able to work in their own state,” he said.

Johari said the GRS has successfully united local parties under one big umbrella, making it a symbol of unity and the collective voice of Sabahans.

“The GRS is a platform for uniting Sabahans regardless of party or ethnicity. We cannot afford to be divided because only unity will ensure Sabah remains strong,” he said.

He said Bingkor PCS will continue strengthening grassroots efforts to explain the GRS’ achievements and ensure the people continue giving the coalition their mandate for sustained development under the SMJ 2030 Plan.

“Sabah is now on the right track under the GRS. This is the time for the people to continue moving forward together, not turn back,” he said.
