PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said on February 1, 2026, that applications submitted by the three former assemblymen to rejoin the party would still be processed through standard internal procedures. He explained that PAS operates within a structured system and that any decision involving membership is handled according to established rules rather than personal judgment.

According to Tuan Ibrahim, the conduct of the three lawmakers had undermined the stability of the state administration and weakened PAS’s position as the governing party in Perlis. While he acknowledged regret over the developments, he stressed that the episode should be viewed as a lesson for the party and its members, particularly on the importance of discipline and loyalty to collective decisions.

He emphasised that PAS’s disciplinary approach is rooted in Islamic teachings and historical precedents. Tuan Ibrahim pointed to an episode from Islamic history involving three companions who failed to join the Prophet Muhammad during the Battle of Tabuk. In that incident, strict measures were imposed to reinforce accountability and obedience, serving as a reminder that leadership directives and organisational discipline must be respected.

The PAS deputy president noted that such firmness was not intended as punishment for its own sake, but as a corrective mechanism to preserve unity and integrity within the movement. He said discipline remains a core value for the party, especially when elected representatives are entrusted with public responsibility and the mandate of voters.

He expressed confidence that PAS would continue to withstand political tests by maintaining unity, discipline, and collective commitment. According to him, adherence to these principles, coupled with faith and perseverance, would ensure that PAS remains resilient as a political platform grounded in integrity and long-term purpose.

The statement comes amid ongoing discussion over the Perlis political situation, with PAS leaders maintaining that internal discipline is essential to protecting the party’s credibility and governing stability at both state and national levels.
