PAS confirms Hamzah Zainudin will remain Opposition Leader and Ahmad Samsuri PN chairman as Hadi Awang signals plans to strengthen support.

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang announced that the party has agreed to retain Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin as Opposition Leader and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar as Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman.

Hadi said the decision was made after taking into account the views of the lawmakers.

“We have heard the voices of Members of Parliament and taken their views into consideration.

“PAS agrees to continue with Hamzah as the Opposition Leader and to retain Dr Samsuri as Chairman of Perikatan Nasional,” he said when officiating the Reset Convention today at Kota Harmoni Expo Site, Tanah Merah, Kelantan.

He also revealed that several prominent political figures in Negeri Sembilan are expected to join the party tonight.

“Tonight, several major political figures, including former ministers, exco members and NGO leaders, will be announced as joining our party. This is a decision that surprised many,” he said.

Hadi said the move would strengthen efforts to mobilise party machinery towards what he described as a mission to “save the country”.

“We will create a change that will energise our machinery and drive a movement to save our nation,” he said.

Hadi expressed confidence that the party’s political momentum would continue to grow.

“We will not surrender. Insya-Allah, we will capture Putrajaya,” he said.
