KOTA BHARU – Pas' efforts to strengthen political cooperation with Umno and other parties would continue, particularly ahead of the Melaka state election, said Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.
He said Perikatan Nasional would discuss ways to strengthen political cooperation with its existing partners, including Barisan Nasional, while negotiations between Pas and Umno would also continue.
The discussions, he added, would eventually cover not only state seats but parliamentary constituencies, including in Sabah and Sarawak.
"We are not only discussing state elections but also general elections. Therefore, this will certainly involve Sabah and Sarawak," he said.
However, Takiyuddin said discussions involving Sabah and Sarawak had yet to reach that stage, although he described the broader roadmap as covering the whole of Malaysia, including GRS and GPS.
He said the immediate focus remained on the upcoming Melaka state election, with further discussions expected within the PN leadership.
