Pasay announces traffic adjustments for Rainbow Festival parade

MANILA, Philippines — Traffic adjustments are expected in some areas in Pasay City on Wednesday, June 24, as the city holds the Pasay Rainbow Festival, featuring a Pride Parade and a series of activities celebrating diversity and inclusivity.

The Pasay Traffic and Parking Management Office said motorists should expect slow-moving traffic and temporary road interruptions along the parade route, as participants gather at Tramo along EDSA and proceed to Arnaiz Avenue, Roxas Service Road, and Derham Street before reaching Cuneta Astrodome.

The Pride Parade will open the day-long celebration at 3 p.m., followed by the Ms. Gay Pasay Tourism Grand Coronation Night at 6 p.m., and the Rainbow Party later in the evening at the Pasay Astrodome along F.B. Harrison Street.

Organized by the city government under Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, the event highlights the city’s support for the LGBTQIA+ community through activities promoting acceptance, representation, and equal recognition.

Roads expected to be affected include Tramo, Arnaiz Avenue, Taft Avenue, Leveriza Street, and F.B. Harrison Street.

Traffic personnel and law enforcement officers will manage vehicle movement and ensure the safe conduct of the event.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes, allow extra travel time, and follow the instructions of traffic enforcers.
