
A passenger fell onto the tracks at Hang Tuah LRT station on Jul. 1, causing train operations on the Ampang and Sri Petaling Line to be briefly affected.
According to a statement by Rapid KL, the incident happened at around 6:36pm, before a train arrived at the platform.
Rapid KL said the passenger was believed to have fainted, causing them to lose balance and fall onto the tracks.
Auxiliary police gave immediate help
Following the incident, auxiliary police officers who were on duty at the platform acted quickly and provided early assistance to the passenger.
The track power supply was temporarily shut off as a safety measure, allowing the operations team to carry out rescue work safely.
The passenger was later brought out of the track area and given first aid at the station’s emergency room.
Train service resumed at 6:52pm
Rapid KL said safety checks were carried out after the incident, and the tracks were confirmed safe for operations.
Train services on the Ampang and Sri Petaling Line resumed as usual at 6:52pm.
In the statement, Rapid KL reminded commuters to follow safety instructions at stations, including standing behind the safety line while waiting for trains and not entering the track area.
Passengers who feel unwell are also advised to immediately seek help from station staff or auxiliary police officers on duty.
