KUALA LUMPUR: A viral video of a confrontation on board an AirAsia flight has drawn attention to how passengers and crew respond during tense moments before departure, the New Straits Times reported.
The woman at the centre of the incident, who identified herself as an off-duty China Southern Airlines flight attendant, claimed another passenger had recorded her while she was speaking loudly on the phone and demanded the footage be deleted.
Tensions rose when she questioned a crew member for speaking in English, arguing it was inappropriate for an international flight despite efforts to calm the situation.
Footage showed police boarding the aircraft as the woman continued to shout and demand immediate compensation, prolonging the disruption.
AirAsia X later confirmed the passenger was removed after failing to comply with crew instructions, with the flight from Chongqing to Kuala Lumpur delayed before departing and arriving safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2.
