Lamar Odom describes a dream conversation with Kobe Bryant

Odom shared the experience during an interview posted online, explaining how he once dreamed about speaking with Bryant after the NBA icon’s passing.

“He looked back at me and said, ‘Hello, the afterlife is not what people make it up to be.’ And then I woke up shortly after that, and it just made me think, like ‘What is he trying to say?’ It could be that he misses everybody,” Odom said.

He added: “It could mean a multitude of things. Maybe he’s still travelling? I don’t know what he meant, but I just took it as ‘live your best life now.'”

The story quickly spread across social media as fans reacted to Odom’s emotional recollection involving his former Lakers teammate.

Odom and Bryant spent several seasons together in Los Angeles and won two NBA championships with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.

Beverley reacted after the clip began circulating online, posting his response in a message shared on X where he dismissed the story in blunt fashion.

“Naw, no way, Sir, you were high. Let the [GOAT] Rest In Peace, please,” Beverley tweeted.

The reaction quickly gained attention because of Beverley’s direct tone toward the former Lakers forward.

While some fans agreed with Beverley’s stance, others defended Odom and said the dream simply reflected the emotional bond many former teammates still feel toward Bryant.

The moment sparked another debate online about how players remember the late Lakers legend and the different ways people continue to process his legacy.
