Paul Scholes handed six-month driving ban after speeding offences

  • Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has received a six-month driving ban following two motoring convictions.
  • The 51-year-old was caught driving a Range Rover at 37mph in a 30mph zone in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, in March.
  • A separate incident in November involved a Mercedes registered to Scholes driving at 49mph in a 30mph zone, resulting in a prosecution for failing to respond to police letters.
  • Scholes was convicted in his absence during private Single Justice Procedure hearings after failing to enter pleas to either charge.
  • Along with the ban, he was handed six penalty points and ordered to pay fines, costs, and victim surcharges totalling £1,472.
