MANILA, Philippines — Domestic workers in the National Capital Region will get an additional pay of P800 beginning February 7, 2026 when their wage adjustment takes effect.
The adjustment in the monthly wage rate of household workers comes after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) issued Wage Order No. NCR-DW-06 dated January 15, 2026, which increases the current P7,000 monthly minimum wage to P7,800.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-NCR Director Sarah Buena Mirasol said on Thursday that the new rate is applicable to all domestic workers whether directly hired by their employers or through licensed private employment agencies.
The wage adjustment for direct-hire household workers, Mirasol explained, will be paid by their employer, while those indirectly hired will be shouldered by the private employment agency that hired them.
The new wage order will benefit 223,610 domestic workers, 62% or 138,263 of whom are on live-in arrangement.
Covered by the P800 wage increase are general househelp, whether stay-in or live-out, cook, gardener, laundry person and any person who regularly performs domestic work in one household on an occupational basis.
However, in accordance with existing laws, family drivers, service providers, and workers hired on an occasional basis or sporadically undertake household duties are not covered in the new salary order.
