KOTA KINABALU, Nov 5 ― Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) is the second party to break ranks from the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan Nasional pact after Bersatu’s Vice President Datuk Ronald Kiandee.

Datuk Ewon Ebin, a former federal minister and former Ranau MP, filed his nomination papers for the Ranau seat using the PBRS symbol.

He will be taking on incumbent Datuk Jonathan Yasin from GRS-Barisan in a five-cornered fight.

The others in the race when nominations closed were Pakatan Harapan's Taufik Dahlan, Markos Situn from Parti Warisan and Pejuang's Azizul Julirin.

Ewon, who was formerly in Upko, moved to Parti Cinta Sabah before joining PBRS.

Earlier today, it was reported that Kiandee was using the Perikatan Nasional symbol to defend his Beluran seat for the sixth term.

Kiandee had resorted to using the PN symbol, after his Beluran seat was allocated to Barisan's Umno candidate Benedict Asmat under the GRS-Barisan pact.
