Kota Kinabalu: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) remains steadfast in Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and supports contesting under a single coalition logo in the upcoming state election, said its information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai (pic).

He said PBS fully supports adopting a unified symbol similar to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) model, viewing it as a sign of stability and unity among local-based parties.

Joniston said contesting under one logo would reflect solidarity, while going separately would only weaken the purpose of building a strong local coalition.

He said the Memorandum of Understanding between PBS and Star signed before the last state election remains technically valid until mutually terminated, adding that PBS respects Star’s decision to leave but hopes for future dialogue in the state’s best interest.

Joniston, who is also Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, said PBS is focused on working with other GRS components to maintain political stability that supports development and investor confidence in Sabah.
