
Malaysia’s top women’s doubles shuttler Pearly Tan received a fruit basket from the prime minister and his wife after pulling out of the Uber Cup due to injury.
NATIONAL women’s doubles shuttler Pearly Tan received a token of appreciation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife today.
The gift, a fruit basket, was delivered after Pearly announced her withdrawal from the Uber Cup squad yesterday due to a recurring back injury.
Pearly shared the gesture on her official Instagram page with a message of thanks. “Thank you for this thoughtful gift. Really appreciate,” said Pearly.
She was originally set to partner M. Thinaah at the Uber Cup Finals in Denmark from April 24 to May 3. Her place will now be taken by Chong Jie Yu.
The other women’s doubles pairs selected for the tournament are Ong Xin Yee-Carmen Ting and Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah.
Malaysia’s women’s singles lineup will feature K. Letshanaa, Wong Ling Ching, Siti Zulaikha Azmi and Goh Jin Wei.
The national women’s team has been drawn in Group B of the Uber Cup Finals alongside Japan, Turkiye and South Africa.
