Pearly-Thinaah, Aaron-Wooi Yik poised for SEA Games gold

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian shuttlers have advanced to the finals in the SEA Games 2025 for the men’s and women’s doubles, with the spotlight now on Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah, and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik in their upcoming gold medal matches.

Pearly-Thinaah fought a hard game and prevailed over Indonesian pair Rachel Allessya Rose-Febi Setianingrum21-14, 19-21 and 21-16 earlier today. The 78-minute match was held at the Thammasat University in Pathum Thani. 

They are expected to play against Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma-Meilysa Trias Puspitasari in the finals tomorrow. 

Meanwhile, Men’s doubles pair Aaron-Wooi Yik reaped the second semi-final win by defeating Indonesians Leo Rolly Carnando-Maulana Bagas 21-10, 21-12 in 33 minutes.

Aaron-Wooi Yik are expected to play either fellow Malaysians Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun or Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Reza Pahlevi Isfahani in the final. - December 13, 2025
