Though falling short in the final, Pearly-Thinaah secured Malaysia’s historic first women’s doubles silver at the BWF World Championships.

The world number two pair fought hard but fall short China’s Liu Shengshu-Tan Ning, losing 14-21, 22-20, 17-21 in three sets.

First M’sian women’s doubles to reach final

Despite the defeat, Pearly-Thinaah still made history as the first Malaysian women’s doubles pair to reach a World Championships final, capping their best-ever run on the world stage with a proud silver medal.

This result came just shortly after Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei claimed Malaysia’s first-ever mixed doubles crown.
