BEAUFORT: The new General Market in Pekan Weston managed by the Beaufort District Council (MDP) is currently under construction and will fulfil the needs of the local community, especially small traders once completed.
Lumadan Assemblyman Datuk Ruslan Muharam said the Sabah Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Housing allocated RM400,000 for the project.
“The Pekan Weston General Market is being built to meet the needs of local residents, particularly small traders, as the previous facility is outdated and unsafe.
“This 3,200 square foot infrastructure is being built on the existing site and is expected to be completed by January next year,” he said after officiating the Ground breaking ceremony for the Pekan Weston General Market, here, on Thursday.
