People Power group condemns Sandiganbayan decision on Marcoses

The Buhay ang People Power Campaign Network on Saturday hit out at the decision of the Sandiganbayan in dismissing the last forfeiture case against the Marcos family’s ill-gotten wealth.

In a statement, the group said it is a punchline to the “cruel” joke that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. could be “anything other than a continuation of the corruption and impunity that defined his father’s regime”.

However, the group said the people will have the last laugh come the 2028 national election.

“The last laugh, however, will belong to the Filipino people. Today, Marcos, Jr. is deservedly the least popular Philippine president in more than a decade. Through the 2028 election, we will use the democracy we wrested from his family’s greedy arms to end Marcos rule in the Philippines once and for all,” the network said.

“We look forward to the day when Marcos Jr., his mother, and his sister are held accountable for the crimes they committed in the past and continue to enable today. They must face judgment beside thieves like Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla, and murderers like Bato dela Rosa and Rodrigo Duterte,” they added.
