She shared that she and her husband had continued buying Lucky Pick tickets over the past three years after both lost their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The prolonged period of unemployment took a toll on her health, with the woman revealing that she suffered from depression and partial memory loss.
To help her regain her memories, her husband frequently took her to places they had visited during their younger years.
During one of those trips, the couple purchased a Lucky Pick ticket in Sitiawan with the winning combination 5900 and 6900, earning a total prize of RM12,946,225.55.
“Those were some of the hardest years of our lives. My husband never gave up on me and always encouraged me to keep moving forward. We never imagined that a simple stop during one of our trips would change our lives forever,” she said.
She recalled the life-changing moment when her husband checked the Sports Toto live results on his mobile phone.
“We were both shocked when we realised we had hit the jackpot for a second time.
“At first, I thought we had read the numbers wrongly because it seemed impossible. Winning the jackpot once was already a blessing, but winning it for the second time is beyond anything I could have imagined,” she added.
Reflecting on the hardships the couple had endured, the woman said they plan to donate part of their winnings to underprivileged communities while setting aside the remainder for their retirement.
“We have experienced difficult times ourselves, so we understand how much a helping hand can mean. I hope this blessing will allow us to give back and make a positive difference in the lives of others,” she said.
