A LUNCH stop in Sitiawan turned into a life-changing moment for a 50-year-old Perak housewife who beat the odds to land a RM12.95 million Sports Toto jackpot, The Star reported.
This marks her second jackpot success, following an approximate RM1.4 million win three years ago with another Lucky Pick ticket.
She and her husband had consistently bought Lucky Pick tickets ever since losing their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The resulting hardship left her battling depression and partial memory loss, prompting her husband to revisit meaningful locations from their youth to help restore her memories.
During one such trip to Lumut, the couple stopped in Sitiawan for lunch and bought the winning ticket at a local Sports Toto outlet.
Reflecting on those years as the hardest of their lives, she shared that her husband never gave up on her and continually encouraged her to move forward.
Her winning Lucky Pick numbers—5900 and 6900—earned her a total payout of RM12,946,225.55.
She plans to set aside the windfall for retirement while donating a portion to underprivileged communities and charitable causes.
