MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine peso closed at a new record low of P62.59 against the US dollar on Friday, weakening by 7 centavos from Thursday’s P62.52 finish, after briefly regaining ground a day earlier following a record-low close on Wednesday.
The local currency opened at P62.43 and traded between P62.335 and P62.65 during the session.
