
SEMPORNA: Marine police seized petrol worth more than RM252,000 in an operation at Kampung Batu, here, on Tuesday.
Sabah (Region Four) Marine Police Commander ACP Mohd Nazri Ibrahim said the operation targeted several premises and boats suspected to be actively carrying out smuggling activities involving subsidised fuel to a neighbouring country.
He said a total of 427 jerry cans containing petrol and three boats were seized.
The seizures were worth RM252,075.25, said Mohd Nazri, adding the case would be investigated under the Control of Supply Act 1961.
