Malaysia’s Petronas denies any role in a reported Philippine fuel supply arrangement, reaffirming its priority is ensuring domestic fuel security.

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has denied any involvement in a reported fuel supply deal with a local government unit in the Philippines.

The national oil company issued a statement clarifying its position on recent media reports about a proposed arrangement.

“Petronas is not aware of, nor involved in, any such arrangement, and has not entered into any related agreement or commitment,” it said.

It stressed that its immediate focus remains on ensuring a reliable and continuous fuel supply for Malaysia.

This priority is supported by established supply networks and close coordination with the government.
