PETRONAS has firmly denied any involvement in a proposed fuel supply arrangement reportedly linked to a local government in the Philippines, following recent media reports suggesting such an agreement.
In an official statement, the national oil company clarified that it had no knowledge of any such proposal.
“PETRONAS wants to emphasise that we are not aware of, nor involved in, any such arrangement, and have never signed any agreements or commitments in relation to this matter,” the statement read.
The company reiterated that its current priority remains ensuring that Malaysia’s fuel supply is stable, reliable, and continuous.
PETRONAS highlighted that this commitment is supported by a robust supply network and close collaboration with the government to guarantee that the nation’s energy requirements are consistently met.
“Our primary focus is on securing the domestic fuel supply to maintain energy stability for the country,” the statement added, underscoring the firm’s dedication to national energy security - March 29, 2026
