The Philippine men’s sixes lacrosse team has qualified for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships, which will be held in Colorado, United States.
World Lacrosse formally announced the Philippine team’s qualification on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
The men’s national team is taking part in the Asia-Pacific Sixes Championships in Australia.
Next year’s world lacrosse championships will also serve as a step to qualify for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
Despite losing 14-15 to China in their opening match on Oct. 5, the team later routed South Korea 22-7 the next day. This secured their qualification for the World Championships.
Lacrosse will return to the Olympics in 2028, following a 120-year absence from the Games.
