A wave of grief swept through Phagwara after 17-year-old boy Vishal from the Bhagatpura area reportedly died due to drowning during a trip to Himachal Pradesh with his friends. The tragic incident has left the family shattered and the entire locality in mourning.
According to family members, Vishal had travelled to Himachal Pradesh along with his four friends. On Tuesday morning, he had shared a social media story from Himachal, indicating that everything was normal during the trip. However, a few hours later, the family received a phone call from the Himachal Pradesh Police informing them that Vishal had died after drowning in water.
The family stated that Vishal and his friends had also visited the Mahadev Kaleshwar area during their trip. However, how the incident actually took place is still not clear. Relatives claimed that they have not been able to establish contact with the friends who had accompanied Vishal and they came to know about the entire matter only through the police.
As news of the incident spread, residents of the locality and several persons reached the bereaved family’s house to express condolences. The sudden death of the teenager has shocked everyone in the area, with many demanding a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
