PHILWEB Corp. on Monday said it had entered into an agreement with Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. to support the latter’s online gaming operations, marking a further push into the regulated digital gaming space.

In a disclosure, PhilWeb said it would provide platform technology, system support, gaming content integration and as marketing and operational services for the online gaming platform of Newport World Resorts, branded as NWRPlay.

The partnership is subject to regulatory requirements and approvals.

The company noted that the deal formed part of an ongoing strategy to expand its business-to-business (B2B) platform and content initiatives within the regulated online gaming sector.

PhilWeb is a Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.-accredited gaming system administrator, allowing it to provide backend and technical support services for licensed online gaming operators.

Travellers International, meanwhile, owns and operates Newport World Resorts, one of the country’s pioneering integrated resorts featuring gaming facilities with hospitality, retail, and entertainment offerings.

Located in Pasay City, the complex features a wide range of amenities including retail and dining outlets at Newport Mall, the Newport Performing Arts Theater, and multiple international hotel brands such as Marriott Hotel Manila, Hilton Manila, Sheraton Manila Hotel and Hotel Okura Manila.

The partnership underscores increasing collaboration between technology providers and integrated resort operators as the Philippines continues to develop its regulated online gaming ecosystem.

PhilWeb shares on Monday held steady at P10.50 each.
