A private company employee riding on a Rapido bike as passenger was killed after a speeding Scorpio hit the two-wheeler on Golf Course Road in the DLF Phase-1 area.
The bike rider also suffered serious injuries and was admitted to hospital for treatment. The police have registered an FIR against the unidentified Scorpio driver at DLF Phase-1 police station.
The police identified the deceased as Sujoy Chaudhary, a resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, who worked for a private company in Gurugram. According to the bike rider, Kalicharan, Sujoy had booked the Rapido ride from IFFCO Chowk to DLF Phase 1 early on Friday morning. As they crossed the Bristol Chowk traffic signal, a Scorpio hit them from behind. Both were taken to a private hospital in Sector 43, where Sujoy later died. “Based on the complaint lodged by Sushant, cousin of the deceased, an FIR has been registered.
The Scorpio involved in the collision has been identified. A notice has been sent to the vehicle owner asking him to join the investigation. The driver will be arrested soon and the vehicle will be seized,” said ASI Manoj Kumar, the investigating officer.
