The 38 Filipino crew members of the MV Hondius have returned to the Philippines after completing a 42-day quarantine in the Netherlands, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said on Saturday.
In a statement, the DMW said the seafarers arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Friday night and were welcomed by Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, along with representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), and their licensed recruitment agency.
Cacdac assured the seafarers of continued government support and relayed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for the DMW, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and DOH to coordinate efforts to ensure their safe return home.
