“Today, traffic broke records in Klang Valley. 2 hours 15 minutes for 25km from PJ to Ampang. Normally it’s just one hour.”
Drivers in Klang Valley have taken to social media to vent their frustration over worsening traffic, with some journeys now taking more than double the usual time.
One Threads user, @eyntansakinah, shared her experience: “Today, traffic broke records in Klang Valley. 2 hours 15 minutes for 25km from PJ to Ampang. Normally it’s just one hour. Can’t imagine how bad it will be tomorrow, Wednesday.”
Other commuters echoed the frustration, noting that morning traffic feels unusually heavy.
@mrs.anakin wrote: “Now KL-PJ in the mornings is jammed like everyone’s heading home for Raya.. why is traffic so bad lately?”
The problem isn’t limited to KL. Social media users in Shah Alam are also noticing heavier congestion.
@jokerasya commented: “Have you noticed that traffic in central Shah Alam is getting worse now? What’s causing it? Can it really just be because of Chinese New Year?”
Some drivers reported that traffic over the past few days has been significantly worse than usual.
@nunaajfr said: “Not to complain, but why is Klang Valley so jammed lately?! It’s always busy, but the past two to three days it’s double jam! Where are all these cars coming from?”
Meanwhile, @dadaniarizall shared her commute experience yesterday: “Back from work yesterday Bangsar-Putrajaya 5:15pm-7:30pm. Is traffic in your area normal or worse than usual? The past few days it’s been really different… why?”
The spike in congestion has left many commuters questioning whether roadworks, post-holiday traffic, or other factors are to blame.
