PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Nur Jazlan Mohamed came under fire from PKR tonight for suggesting Pakatan Harapan apologise for its decades-old attacks on Umno, its former adversary turned government ally.
PKR deputy information chief Razeef Rakimin said such calls showed that some Umno leaders have yet to shed their arrogant behaviour.
Win a few seats and they are already puffing their chests, he said, referring to Umno’s win at the recent by-elections in Nenggiri and Mahkota.
There was no need for PH to apologise to Umno but he suggested that Umno should instead thank the coalition led by Anwar Ibrahim.

Read more If not for PH, Umno would not have changed its conceited and corrupt ways, he said.
Umno was once rotten to the core, something which had been admitted by their leaders. But after joining forces with PH, they have slowly rid themselves of arrogance and pride as well as avoided corruption and abuse of power, Razeef said.
Razeef said Umno should not get cocky after its huge win in Mahkota as the party would not have obtained its large majority without PH’s hard work to bring out voters.
Earlier today, Nur Jazlan said that PH must realise that no single party in the unity government coalition could claim to be the main pillar of the alliance, following the outcome of Saturday’s election.
He called for PH to apologise to Umno for the slander, accusations and negative perceptions of Umno that PH created over the years, tarnishing Umno’s image among voters.
Nur Jazlan also said that PH could forget about staying in power without the support of Malay votes that Umno could bring.
In the Mahkota by-election, Barisan Nasional fielded an Umno candidate, Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah, who was elected with a majority of 20,648 votes over his rival, Haizan Jaafar from Perikatan Nasional.
