KOTA KINABALU, Sept 25 — PKR is expected to discuss and decide on the membership status of Datuk Yamani Hafez Musa, the eldest son of Sabah Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman, at its Central Leadership Council (MPP) meeting this Sunday.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Fuziah Salleh said the meeting will be held on September 28 and that all matters relating to membership will be finalised then.

“Memberships are the right of the individual. I suggest you ask him (Yamani) directly about his membership status after the September 28 meeting,” she told reporters here.

Fuziah, who is also deputy minister of domestic trade and cost of living, was speaking after inspecting preparations for the Budi95 programme at a petrol station here today.

Yamani, a former Sipitang MP, is said to have applied for PKR membership online, with speculation rife that he could be fielded in the Sindumin state seat in the upcoming Sabah election.

However, Sabah Umno is also reportedly eyeing Sindumin, currently held by Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob — who won on a Warisan ticket before defecting to Umno and later to GRS.

The article notes that Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan have broadly agreed on a seat-sharing formula, though some seats, including Sindumin, are still being negotiated.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to arrive in Sabah tomorrow, meeting the public and preparing election machinery across Inanam (Kota Kinabalu), Merotai (Tawau), and Sandakan.
