KOTA BELUD: The Kadamaian Development Plan 2020-2035 will continue to serve as a primary guide to ensure comprehensive development in the area.
Its Asemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick said the plan covers the development needs of villages across Kadamaian.
“This is my ongoing commitment as the representative of Kadamaian to provide various development needs for villages,” said Ewon who is also the Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister.
“Each village has its own set of challenges. For example, Kg Piak Lasou, which is located far and isolated in Kadamaian.
“Before this, we provided funds for road maintenance and other small projects. Last year, I managed to get RM500,000 from the Ministry of Economy to build a concrete road to the housing area of this village which has been fully completed.
“However, the village is still quite far and needs concrete roads to be built, along with electricity supply and telecommunications network,” he said at the village’s Kaamatan Festival recently.
Ewon announced the approval for RM50,000 special fund from the Minister to build an open hall in Kg Piak.
In addition, he also presented a contribution of RM10,000 under the Sentuhan Kasih Adun Kadamaian programme for a generator and solar lights for the village’s community hall.
He said the Government’s initiative under the Ministry had been implemented in Sabah, including in Kadamaian.
“This is aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurship and cooperative sector in rural areas,” he said.
He fully supports mothers and young people doing business during Kaamatan Festival as part of efforts to promote local economic activities.
