PENAMPANG: Penampang Member of Parliament Datuk Ewon Benedick contributed RM30,000 to the Penampang police officers’ club as an appreciation for their service in ensuring public order and national security.

Ewon, who is also the Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, presented the donation while attending the 218th Police Day Commemoration at the Penampang District Police Headquarters, here, Tuesday.

“As I mentioned during the recent iftar event with the officers of Penampang IPD, today I am delivering a contribution of RM30,000 from the Member of Parliament’s allocation to the Penampang police officers’ club.

“Although this donation is small compared to their dedication and sacrifices, it is a token of our appreciation for the vital role the police officers play in maintaining national security,” he said.

Ewon also emphasised that the role of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in safeguarding national peace and security is crucial in facilitating the continuous growth of the country’s entrepreneurial and economic activities.
