Kota Kinabalu: The Tamu Suara 360° (TS360) roadshow concluded at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Saturday, drawing around 3,000 participants from across the state.
The engagement-focused initiative, which served as a platform for dialogue between the government and Sabah youths, recorded a total of about 16,000 participants throughout its 16-statewide sessions.
Sabah Youth Council (MBS) President Abqaree Fawwaz Abekan said the inaugural programme was designed to ensure that the voices of young Sabahans are inclusively reflected in the state government’s policy and decision-making processes relating to youth development.
“This first-of-its-kind initiative by MBS, supported by the state government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports Sabah (KBSS), aims to ensure that the voices of grassroots youths are taken into account as part of the state’s guidance in formulating youth development policies,” Abqaree said.
He hoped that TS360 would continue to be held annually as a communication bridge between the government and the youth community to ensure that new state initiatives remain aligned with the aspirations of young Sabahans.
“This programme breaks through bureaucratic barriers, making it special because youths from all walks of life, especially from grassroots communities, are free to express their ideas and opinions directly to policymakers and leaders.
“I truly hope this initiative will continue every year as a simple yet effective communication bridge between the youth and the state government,” he added.
The finale of TS360, attended by various youth communities, was officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
For the record, the TS360 roadshow, which began in Kuching, Sarawak, covered 15 locations across Sabah, including Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Keningau, Kudat, Sandakan and Tawau.
