“Please don’t fine me” – M’sian Drivers Leave Notes on Their Cars as App Outage Prevents Parking Payments

The post “Please don’t fine me” – M’sian Drivers Leave Notes on Their Cars as App Outage Prevents Parking Payments appeared first on WORLD OF BUZZ.

A Threads user, @talmizal, has expressed frustration after he was unable to pay for parking through the Flexi Parking app due to a technical issue on Tuesday morning (30 June).

In a post that has since gone viral, the man claimed that he had spent nearly an hour trying to complete the payment, but the Flexi Parking application remained inaccessible.

Drivers leave notes to inform officers

To avoid being issued a parking compound, he printed a notice and placed it on his vehicle’s windscreen to inform enforcement officers that he was unable to make payment due to the app outage. The notice also included a request for officers to contact him if necessary, along with proof that he had attempted to pay.

“The app is problematic, so I couldn’t pay for parking. I don’t know if there’ll be any discretion from the authorities. I even left proof on my car,” the user wrote in his caption.

The note read,

“I can’t pay for parking. I’ve been trying to make the payment for almost an hour. If necessary, please call me at the number below while I’m inside the shop. Please don’t issue me a parking compound.”

The user called on the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) to intervene, saying many motorists were unable to make parking payments as all available platforms appeared to be affected by the outage.

“Please resolve this issue for us as users. Payments couldn’t be made, all platforms were down, and people wasted hours refreshing the app from morning until evening.

“In the end, users were still issued parking compounds. It’s disheartening to see so many posts from people who were fined even though they were genuinely trying to pay for parking,” he wrote.

“I wanted to pay the parking fees, but it says “server error”. I’ve used Flexi Parking app, TnG, and others, nothing worked.”

The application is still under maintenance

In an update this morning (1 July), the management of the Flexi Parking application informed users that system recovery work is still ongoing and that the application service remains unavailable at this time.

“Our team is working diligently to restore the service safely and ensure it is stable before bringing it back online. We will continue to share the latest updates through this channel.”

“Thank you for your patience and cooperation.”
