PM Anwar attends 219th Police Day celebration in Kuala Lumpur

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim joined top officials at the Police Training Centre to mark the annual event honouring the force’s service and sacrifice.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the 219th Police Day celebration at the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) here today.

He arrived at the event at about 2 pm and was received by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Other attendees included Deputy IGP Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay and Bukit Aman police directors.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil were also in attendance.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar was present as well.

At the event, the Prime Minister launched the book ‘Buku MESRA PDRM- Modul Kesedaran Jenayah Kanak-Kanak dan Remaja’.

Police Day is observed annually on March 25 to honour the service and dedication of police personnel.

This year’s celebration carried the theme “Police and the Community Are Inseparable”.

The date marks the historic establishment of the police force on March 25, 1807, in Penang.

This followed the introduction of the Charter of Justice.
