KOTA BHARU - Despite the upcoming state elections, Raya open house held by the federal government is not considered a political issue as the move will strengthen the relationship between leaders and the rakyat.
Che Anuar Che Ngah, a 71-year-old pensioner from a statutory body said that the open house approach is a positive effort as it can enhance the relationship between the leaders and the people.
“Let’s forget about politics and have an open mind which is to care for one another,” he told Sinar.
Mohd Emran Che Mohd Yasin, a 31-year-old private employee from Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, agreed that the open house could serve as an opportunity for the public to socialise and get to know one another while meeting with leaders.
Emran said that the focus should not be on politicking but rather on strengthening the bond between people.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed allegations that the government’s move to hold Hari Raya open houses in opposition run Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu had anything to do with the state elections.
Anwar had said he will also be attending three other Hari Raya open houses in Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan, organised by the respective state governments.
