KLANG - The main suspect and two accomplices in the viral video of a man assaulting a food delivery rider were arrested here at around 6.30pm recently.
South Klang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said urine tests conducted on the main suspect returned positive for methamphetamine, and that all three suspects had drug-related records.
Cha urged members of the public with any additional information regarding the incident to contact the South Klang District Police Headquarters at 03-33762222 or any nearby police station.
"The investigation papers will be completed shortly before being referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.
"The case is being investigated under Section 323/427 of the Penal Code and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday at a traffic light intersection on Jalan Langat-Klang, heading towards Klang, sparked outrage among netizens, leading to calls for the swift arrest of the suspects.
